Questions
- What counts toward the Free limits?
- Saved connections and credentials in your Personal workspace, and the devices paired with your identity. Sessions you have open don't count, and neither do team workspaces you've joined.
- What happens if I go over a limit?
- Nothing disappears. If you end up over a limit, for example after pairing a device, you keep every connection and credential; you just can't add new ones until you're back under it or upgrade.
- Perpetual or subscription: what's the difference?
- A perpetual license covers every version released during its year of updates, and you can keep using those versions forever. A subscription covers whatever version you run while it's active, plus 14 days' grace.
- How do I get my license?
- By email, a minute or so after checkout: a .tlxlic file you import in the app under Manage → License & plan. A subscription sends a new one each month, and a seat change sends one with the new seats.
- Who handles the payment?
- Stripe sells TerminalLynx licenses as merchant of record, through Link. It takes the payment, adds any sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipt; your statement shows LINK.COM* TERMINALLYNX. Subscribers can cancel or change their subscription at link.com or from the link on this page.
- What happens when a license lapses?
- A perpetual license keeps working with every version released before its updates ended. A lapsed Pro subscription goes back to Free; a lapsed Team subscription makes the team read-only. Either way, nothing is locked or deleted: you can still connect to everything.
- Does licensing need an internet connection?
- No. A license is a signed certificate you import into the app, which checks it offline. The app never calls home, so it works on air-gapped machines.
- Is my work homelab personal use?
- Personal use means your own private, non-commercial purposes: a homelab, side projects, study. Anything for an employer or a client, or that you're paid for, needs Pro or Team. The EULA has the exact wording.
The End User License Agreement has the full terms.
